Pricing and payment
How much does a tow cost in San Diego?
Light-duty hook fees start at $95 plus disclosed mileage, quoted flat before we dispatch. Typical local tows under 10 miles total $95–$175. Heavy-duty hook fees start at $285. Motorcycle, RV, long-distance, and specialty (exotic, classic) are priced separately — always written and flat. You hear the number before the truck rolls.
Do you charge extra at night, weekends, or holidays?
No. Dispatch is 24/7 at the same rate. Same-price nights, same-price Sunday mornings, same-price Fourth of July. No surge pricing.
What payment methods do you accept?
Credit card, debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Zelle, and cash. Payment is taken at the drop-off; the driver runs a card reader on the truck.
Do you work with insurance or motor clubs?
Yes. AAA, Allstate, Geico, USAA, State Farm, and most major motor clubs route calls through us. Call your insurance or motor club first if you have coverage — they typically dispatch directly and cover the tow.
Response times and coverage
How fast can you get to me?
Average arrival across San Diego County is 30–45 minutes. Coastal and central SD usually faster; East County and backcountry up to 45–75 minutes depending on traffic and distance. We give a real ETA when you call, not a script.
What areas do you cover?
We cover every city in San Diego County — coast to backcountry, border to Pendleton. Camp Pendleton gate coordination handled. Cross-border work arranged with our partners on the other side.
Do you respond to freeways?
Yes. I-5, I-15, I-8, I-805, 52, 78, 56, 94, 163 — we work every San Diego freeway. For CHP-directed freeway tows we follow the mandatory rotation. For private calls on freeway shoulders, we dispatch directly.
What if I break down in the mountains or backcountry?
We come to you. Julian, Palomar, Sunrise Highway, Anza-Borrego, the East County canyons — response is longer (45–90 minutes) but we carry the right gear. Pin-drop your location or give mile marker when you call.
What truck and service you need
Flatbed or wheel-lift — which does my car need?
AWD, 4WD, and all EVs must go flatbed — no exceptions. Wheel-lift works fine for standard FWD or RWD sedans and most trucks. Lowered, damaged, or luxury vehicles should go flatbed for safety. Tell us year/make/model when you call and we route the right truck.
Can you tow my Tesla or EV?
Yes. Every EV needs a flatbed — the drive motors stay engaged with the wheels. We move Teslas, Rivians, Mustang Mach-Es, Lucids, and Hummer EVs regularly. If the battery is completely dead and the transport mode will not engage, we have workarounds.
Do you tow motorcycles and RVs?
Yes. Motorcycles get low-deck flatbeds with soft straps. Class A, B, C motorhomes and fifth-wheels all handled with our heavy wreckers. We tell you on the phone what truck is coming.
Can you do long-distance tows out of San Diego?
Yes. Common routes from SD: Los Angeles, Orange County, Inland Empire, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Yuma, Bay Area. Flat-rate written quotes. Scheduled pickups preferred; same-day available for emergencies.
Roadside assistance
Can you jump-start my car?
Yes. We carry high-capacity jump packs on every truck. If the battery is the only issue, you drive away after a 10-minute idle. If the alternator or battery is bad, we tell you honestly and can tow from the same call.
Will you change a flat tire for me?
Yes. We bring the tools and we swap the spare. On a freeway, we may recommend a short tow to a safe lot for the swap — freeway shoulder tire work is dangerous and often illegal without a lane closure.
Do you deliver fuel?
Yes. 2-gallon minimum, gas or diesel. Enough to get you to the nearest station. Fuel is charged at cost plus a small service fee.
Can you unlock my car?
Yes for most standard vehicles. Some newer models with transponder keys require a locksmith or dealer; we tell you on the phone whether we can help or you need a specialist.
Accident, insurance, and paperwork
Will my insurance cover the tow after an accident?
Most comprehensive and collision policies cover post-accident towing. Call your insurer right after the tow and we provide a detailed invoice with scene location, reason, and destination — exactly what adjusters need.
Do you coordinate with CHP and local police?
Yes. We are on the CHP freeway rotation and coordinate with SDPD and local PDs on every type of accident scene. If law enforcement is on scene, we work directly with the officer on removal and destination.
Can you tow a vehicle to a specific body shop?
Yes. Your car goes where you want it. We deliver to any shop, dealer, or storage in San Diego County, and coordinate long-distance delivery to out-of-area destinations.
Private property and HOA towing
Can my HOA or apartment get a private-property agreement?
Yes. We sign CVC 22658-compliant written agreements with apartment complexes, HOAs, and retail lots across SD County. Sign audit, patrol schedule, and release procedure all handled on our side. No cost to the property.
What do I do if my car was towed from private property?
California law requires the tow company to provide release info to the vehicle owner. Call us with your license plate — if we have the car we tell you where it is, what the release fee is, and what paperwork you need (driver's license + registration in most cases).
