Wheel-Lift

Wheel-lift towing. Tight spaces. Fast turnarounds.

When you need to pull a standard sedan out of a tight apartment garage or a downtown drive-through lot, a wheel-lift truck is the right tool. Smaller footprint than a flatbed, faster hook-up, and zero damage on properly-equipped vehicles. We run modern hydraulic wheel lifts rated for sedans, trucks, and most SUVs up to 7,500 pounds.

Common questions

What is wheel-lift towing?

A wheel-lift truck has a metal yoke that slides under the drive wheels and lifts only that end of your vehicle off the ground — the other end rolls on its own wheels. It is faster than a flatbed and fits into tight lots where a flatbed cannot.

Is wheel-lift safe for my car?

For standard FWD or RWD sedans, yes. For AWD, 4WD, or any EV — absolutely not, call for a flatbed. The spinning driveshaft or dragging drive motors will cause expensive internal damage on any vehicle with all four wheels driven or motored. If you're unsure, we'll tell you honestly.

Can you fit into an apartment garage?

Usually yes. Our wheel-lift trucks clear 6'8" on most models. Text a photo of the garage entrance when you call and we'll confirm clearance before dispatch. Some downtown buildings with 6'0" clearance require a specialty mini-truck — we can arrange.

How much does wheel-lift towing cost?

Local wheel-lift tows start at $95 flat plus disclosed mileage. Short-distance moves (under 5 miles) are a flat $120 in most of San Diego. You get the full number before we dispatch.

Will you jump start and then tow if the car will not run?

Yes. Many batteries are just drained — a quick jump is sometimes all you need, no tow required. If the alternator is bad or the engine won't hold a charge, we'll jump it to move it to the truck and still tow. Either way, the tow covers both labor.

Homeowners who hired us for this

Broke down on the 5 at 1 a.m. Dispatcher answered on the first ring, gave me a real ETA, and the flatbed showed up 35 minutes later. Driver walked me through the load and I was home by 3. Exactly what I needed.

Our 26-foot rental truck died halfway through a move. Called three companies; Quick Tow was the only one who picked up. Heavy wrecker was onsite in under an hour and they dropped the truck exactly where we needed.

Steve R. Heavy-Duty Towing · El Cajon

Model Y wouldn't shift out of park. They rolled up with a low-clearance flatbed, knew exactly what button combo puts it in transport mode, loaded with soft straps. No drama, no scratches, no nonsense.
