If the tires are buried in Anza-Borrego, a Silver Strand pull-off, or a Mission Bay lot, stop spinning. Call (858) 923-5787. Quick Tow SD is a referral line, not an off-road fleet. The line takes calls 24/7 and matches you with an independent operator who can quote that pin. This page does not publish a weekly Fiesta Island run.
The dedicated winch page is winch-out. Accident scenes after police release are accident recovery.
A third-party recovery video from Matt’s Off Road Recovery shows why a wheel-lift is the wrong first tool in loose sand:
Source: Mercedes Overlander Gets Sand Trapped At Babylon Mill. That clip is Utah, not San Diego. The lesson that still applies is the same: stay on firm ground and pull, do not drive a second truck into the same hole.
Why a normal tow often fails in sand
A wheel-lift assumes the remaining tires can roll. In sand they plow. Dragging from the wrong point can tear suspension. A rollback that drives onto the same soft patch can get stuck too. The operator who accepts says whether they will winch from pavement, use boards, or decline the pin.
This brand does not own a 12,000-pound winch package. Ask what gear that operator actually has.
Where to give a usable pin
Name the park, lot, or road, not “the desert.” Useful pins include Anza-Borrego / Borrego Springs, Ocotillo Wells, Silver Strand pull-offs, Fiesta Island, and forest or ranch roads east of Alpine. If you are below a high-water line, say so. The operator estimates that site. This page does not list every beach as covered.
What to do while you wait
Stop trying to drive out. Stay with the vehicle if walking is worse. Do not treat bumper hooks as recovery points. Airing down a tire is a judgment call for that tire and that rim; this page does not publish a 32-to-18 PSI recipe. Give the operator a landmark and a GPS pin if you have one.
A friend with a pickup is only a good idea if they have rated recovery points and a recovery strap, not a tow strap. More often the second vehicle gets stuck. Ask the quoted operator instead of guessing.
Cost, insurance, and a rollover
Ask the operator who accepts. Hourly versus flat is their quote, not a chart on this page. Ask your insurer or motor club first if you have off-road coverage. This page does not publish AAA Premier mileage.
If the vehicle is rolled or over an edge, that is accident recovery, and only after police say it can leave. This brand is not on CHP rotation.
Frequently asked questions
Can you reach Anza-Borrego?
Ask with the pin. Some operators will quote that park or a BLM road. Remote pins take a longer drive. The operator estimates that call. There is no published backcountry clock.
Will you come to me?
The operator who accepts sets the arrival estimate for that pin. This brand does not promise to come to you.
What if I am at Fiesta Island or the Strand?
Give the lot name and whether a wrecker can stay on pavement. This page does not treat those lots as a weekly route.
Call (858) 923-5787 with the pin. Ask for a written number before anyone is scheduled.
